Senior Electronics Design Engineer

About the Role

GeoMagna is looking for an experienced Senior Electronics Design Engineer to take a leading role in the design and development of our advanced offshore electronic systems. This is a senior technical position with significant responsibility for product architecture, design quality, and technical leadership within the engineering team.

You will work across the full product development lifecycle — from requirements capture and system architecture through schematic capture, PCB layout, firmware integration, and product qualification — delivering reliable, high-performance systems for use in demanding offshore environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electronic design of new products and enhancements to existing product lines
• Produce schematics, PCB layouts, and associated technical documentation
• Define and execute product test and qualification programmes
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
• Liaise with firmware and software engineers to ensure seamless hardware/software integration
• Support the selection and evaluation of electronic components and suppliers
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across hardware and firmware
• Contribute to the company's technical strategy and product roadmap

Requirements

• Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Significant hands-on experience in electronic product design (5+ years preferred)
• Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium Designer or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of analogue and digital circuit design
• Experience with embedded systems and microcontroller-based designs
• Familiarity with acoustic or underwater electronic systems an advantage
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex design challenges
