Overview

Product Overview

The AGS-1000 is the first in a line of modular radio controlled Array Guidance Systems (AGS) for seismic tail buoys, head buoys and sources. The system allows an operator to steer towed units via radio controlled rudders installed on each unit, with rudder position fed back to the vessel for display on the operator's console.

The rudder assemblies are modular in construction and can be factory adapted to fit any tail or head buoy or seismic source. The standard units have a range of +/- 30° but can be factory adapted for bigger or smaller ranges as required. Power to the rudder is provided by an onboard battery pack, which can be fitted with an in-water propeller powered generator.

The system utilises spread spectrum LoRa radio transceivers to achieve ranges of up to 20Km.

Key Features

  • Modular rudder system adaptable to any existing tail buoy, head buoy or seismic source
  • Radio control over a LoRa link with ranges of up to 20Km
  • Intuitive Windows-based software — manual control of up to 32 remote rudder units with visual and digital rudder position display
  • Operator console supports up to four preset angles and slow/fast rudder movement
  • Vessel installation: computer, interface box with power supply, and masthead transceiver unit
  • Remote installation: mechanical rudder and drive motor assembly, mast-mounted transceiver, and onboard battery
